Pinterest-like Gallery

To get a Pinterest-like image gallery, force the thumbnail column to the column-width value and set the height of the thumbnail to a ridiculously large value.

Have Image Stand-out

To get a Pinterest-like image gallery with some images larger than other, add the parameter cement_width to each image you want to stand out and give it the value 2 or 3 (no other value allowed for now).

Modify gallery style

If you do not feel confortable with jAlbum template creation and modification, it is fairly easy to adjust the (web) style of the gallery to your liking. When jAlbum generates a gallery, it copies all file, including style sheets, to a single directory usually called res. All gallery styling is contained in common.css and style.css files.

For you convenience, an extra custom.css file that is not provided is loaded by each generated page. You can modify an existing style and provide a new definition for it in that file.

Too many landscape image?

Masonry's default settings are meant to organise thumbnails vertically, in a uniform column width arrangement. This is very nice especially if you have numerous portrait pictures of different sizes, with fewer landscape images.

The latest release of the skin precisely offers a choice of alternate layout library. For instance, if you have more landscape images than portrait images, the Isotope layout library may be more appropriate. This library has numerous layout style that will certainly suit your needs.

Infinite Scroll

As an alternative to traditional page navigation links, such as links to next/previous pages, links to page numbers, and so on, Cement now offers infinite scroll.

To enable infinite scroll, simple head to the Page setup option of jAlbum and set two values for Rows and Columns. If either value is null (rows=0 or columns=0), all images will be loaded on a single page, and infinite scroll will not kick in. If you enter values for both rows and columns, index pages will be generated, each containing rows X columns images. Infinite scroll will now work and load each index page in turn as you scroll down.

Currently, infinite scroll requires that you use Masonry Layout only. I will later add other layout if possible.

Dark or Light Style

Cement comes in two different neutral styles.

  • dark
  • light
